First and foremost, we believe in Yeshua (Jesus), God and Israel's Christ, who is "the image of the invisible God" (Col 1:15), God's only begotten Son (John 1:14, 1:18, 3:16), whom God showed His love to the world by sending, "that we might live through him" (1 John 4:9). In Him we "live, move and have our being" (Acts 17:28). (For a more thorough teaching about who Jesus is according to the scriptures, see here and here.)
We fellowship solely for the purpose of gathering around Him, making the mystery of Him known all the more to one another, as we share Him in mutual ministry to one another and to the world.
Many portions of this website show how we differ from other Christian believers in our practice, but most of our foundational beliefs are orthodox, in that we affirm the Holy Bible to be God's Word, and that Jesus Christ is His only Son, who died on the cross for sins and resurrected from the dead for the salvation of all who would believe.
We affirm that Christ's church is NOT divided (Matthew 12:25; 1 Cor 1:13) and that the New Testament clearly prohibits sects and denominations. We therefore meet only in the name of Jesus Christ, and identify ourselves only as Christians, or as "believers in" or "followers of" Jesus Christ. We affirm that those who call themselves by a denomination are sectarian and in error (read 1 Cor 1:10-31). While individual attendees may come from a "Catholic," "Jewish," "Baptist," "Lutheran," "Charismatic," "Non-Denominational denomination," "Pagan" or other background, we believe it is to Christ's glory that all come to drop such labels as they learn to meet in Christ's name and under His headship alone, rather than under the name of a man-made divisive title.
We receive whom Christ has received (Romans 15:7), whether weak or strong in the faith (Romans 14:1), and therefore invite into our fellowship all who believe in Him, and who wish to "grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18).
Growing in grace and knowledge of Christ implies that believers lives will increasingly be purified from sin and erroneous doctrinal beliefs as they "behold the glory of the Lord" and are changed into His image "from glory to glory... by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Cor 3:18). We therefore do not quickly "judge another man's (God's) servant" (Romans 14:4), and cannot look down or cast stones upon those at different levels of sanctification and purification, knowing our own faults (Matt 7). Rather, we "consider ourselves" and seek to first "strengthen those overtaken in a fault" (Gal 6:2).
We likewise affirm that Jesus Christ is the "author and finisher" of our faith (Hebrews 12:12), and that "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:" (Phil 1:6) ... "Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Cor 1:8) ...
While church discipline may at times be appropriate (1 Cor 5:1-13), we pray for every individual in our midst...
"Now the God of peace, that brought again
from the dead our Lord Jesus...
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is
wellpleasing in his sight,
through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen." (Heb
13:20-21)
